The print edition was published by Galleriaforma, Genoa on the occasion of the solo exhibition of the works of Giulio Paolini held from 30 March to 19 April 1974. Ever since it was founded in 1972 by Paolo Minetti and Emilio Rebora the activity of the gallery has included the production of editions and multiples.

Double-sided three-flap grey cardboard folder, blank, closed format 28 x 23 cm. Contains the edition, with no accessory sheets.

The three sheets, framed without a passepartout, are arranged close together at short intervals from each other (in three individual frames or in a single frame). The order of the sequence of the three elements is binding: the names at the top centre, from left to right, are Germano Celant, Mirella Bandini, and Giulio Paolini.

The portfolio is made up of a sequence of three typewritten sheets, equal in composition and size. The first one features the bibliographical data of the monograph dedicated to the artist by Germano Celant in 1972 (New York: Sonnabend Press). The second one refers to the bibliographical data for the review of the same monograph by Mirella Bandini in the art magazine Nac (4, Milan, April, 1973, p. 41). The third sheet features the biographical data for the portfolio itself (author, title, publisher, place and year of publication).
In the succession of three sheets, the second one attests to the existence of the first one, while the final post scriptum is limited to attesting to the existence of the portfolio itself. By evoking an absent subject (Celant's book), recalled through the language, the work neither reveals nor declares anything. Similarly, the post scriptum adds nothing to the work. All it does is attest – via the biographical data – to its existence. Rather than proposing something, the work questions the language as such, and the concept of duplication or multiplication, implicit in the nature of the print edition.
