Senza titolo (dalla serie dei “Disegni”), 1964

GPC-0025

Untitled (from the Series “Disegni”)

Sheet of drawing paper with autograph inscription, acetate sheet

65.4 x 50 cm

Signed and dated on the recto of the sheet of drawing paper, upper left: “Giulio Paolini 1964”

Annemarie and Gianfranco Verna Collection, Zurich

Gift of the artist, May 2018

The display case should be set up on an opaque white plinth (about 80 x 80 x 50 cm or in any case slightly larger than the display case), or, in a domestic situation, on a table or other horizontal support surface. The display case must be as follows: height 20 cm, variable width and length depending on the size of the sheet of drawing paper, however enough to leave at least 5 cm leeway on each of the four sides.
The sheet should be arranged on the bottom of the display case so that it is slightly askew and in an open position (the signed side should be considered the recto).
The fold in the sheet must remain clearly visible – possibly just slightly lifting the upper half of the sheet – to avoid a flattening effect.
The acetate sheet should be arranged freely, it too in a staggered position.

Alternatively, in a museum or in a large room: installation with two plexiglas cubes 80 x 80 x 80 cm, placed one on top of the other and slightly askew (the lower one is the base, the upper one is a protective case). Inside the upper cube, the
Disegno is arranged in an open position and so that it is slightly askew. The fold should be clearly visible and not appear to be completely flat. The acetate sheet should also be positioned so that it is askew.
Or, again in a museum venue, depending on the situation and what is possible: installation on a white or plexiglas base 80 x 80 x 50 cm or 80 x 80 x 80 cm, with a plexiglas case measuring 40 x 80 x 50 / 40 x 80 x 80 cm.
