At the top of a sheet of letter paper Paolini, in his own handwriting, wrote the quotation from Ad Autolico by Theophilus of Antioch (second century) contained in the title.
For the solo show “Vedo” (Rome, 1970), the sheet pinned to the wall next to the entrance to the gallery served as a "title-page" for the exhibition, which was entirely dedicated to the "ancient phenomenon of seeing”.1
The work was reproduced, with a different quotation, in a variant from the same year (GPO-0186) and in a print edition produced in 1970 (GPE-0005).
