The work was executed in an edition of three.
Three cassette tapes are included in a wall drawing of linear rectangles so that they form three triads of units at eye level. Arranged on the ground, corresponding to the three cassette tapes are three tape recorders constantly recording. The triple sequence of drawn rectangles and cassette tapes abides by a permutation, which is in turn repeated by subtraction inside each single element in the sequence: every time the rectangle corresponding to the position of the element in question is missing.
The same title was used for two other works, formally entirely different, made for the same solo show, entitled “Le tre Grazie”, held at the Galerie Yvon Lambert in Paris in 1978 (GPO-0379, GPO-0381).
