At the top of a sheet of drawing paper pinned by four drawing pins to a primed canvas is the handwritten sentence in ink the work is named after.
Like other similar works made between 1967 and 1969, Una visita alla casa di Raffaello also presents a "blind vision", one that "in place of a declared subject offers only the 'curtain' of a scene or the title-page of a book”.1
