Several sheets of drawing paper of various sizes and two photographs of the artist’s hand while doing a variety of tasks (moving, holding, overlapping sheets or images) are applied in part to the wooden panel at the back and in part on the plexiglas sheet, carved along the diagonals and held against the wall by four steel pins.
In the artist’s own words: "The presence of the hand, the sheets that are still blank: this is the itinerary that reveals all that will make up the work, that is, its own path before reaching fruition. The path of the hand without the work knowing”.1
The legal term in the title is meant to refer to the “mute” and scattered sheets, which do not refer anything.
The same title was used for a complementary version made during the same year, albeit formally distinct (GPO-0802).
The same theme was formulated in a first version in 1997, in which the paper components were arranged on a bound volume (GPO-1129).
