Un quadro (di Morris Louis), 1969

GPO-0190

A Painting (by Morris Louis)

Collage on primed canvas

200 x 200 cm

Dismantled work

The dissemination on a large-scale primed canvas of the torn fragments of a colour reproduction of a painting by Morris Louis (Point of Tranquility, 1960) aims to recall the American artist's painting technique. Paolini explains that "the free fall of the fragments on the canvas is meant to remind us of the free fall of colour upon the canvas that is featured in Louis' painting".1
