The plexiglas plate which bears the name of the French painter mentioned in the title was conceived by the artist as a placeholder for his wife's desk.
Both a tribute and an exchange of identity, the work is part of the distinctive line of research in 1970-71, focused on a Borgesian idea of interchangeable identity.
The pendant of the work is the placeholder made by the artist for himself (GPO-0198).
