Contact sheets, book pages and fragments of photographic reproductions affixed to a stretcher with drawing pins
80 x 100 cm
Signed, titled, and dated on the verso, upper stretcher bar, left: "Giulio Paolini / "Souvenir", 1974"
Present whereabouts unknown
Attached to the bars of an empty stretcher are the contact sheets of the photographs that were taken while Paolini was making Vedo (la decifrazione del mio campo visivo) (GPO-0188) at the Studio Marconi in 1973, alternatively combined with pages torn from the 1972 monograph by Germano Celant (Sonnabend Press, New York), and with torn pieces of colour "souvenir-photos" of skies and landscapes.
The work ends a series of variations on the same theme which was begun in 1971 (GPO-0217, GPO-0219, GPO-0220, GPO-0221, GPO-0251).
