The plexiglas case contains the echo of a previous version (L’idolo, 1983-84, GPO-0515), reproduced in the colour photograph arranged on the bottom of the empty case (in the previous variant, an image of the sky was applied to the upper part of the case, while fragments from the plaster casts of a pair of wings and a classical head were scattered on the bottom and all around it.)
Whereas in the photographic reproduction the work bears the echo of a previous version, the arrangement on the ground of the picture taken from above of the first Idolo reformulates the theme of the fall of an "idol", on which the series of works with the same title are based (GPO-0515, GPO-0545, GPO-0579).
